Hi! My name is Mel & this is my "thing" <3

I got started in boudoir after experiencing firsthand how insanely powerful it is. To see yourself from an entirely new perspective.

It gives me so much happiness to see a girl literally shaking when she comes in because she’s so nervous that they won’t turn out—to me showing her the back of the camera during the shoot and seeing her eyes light up with confidence.

To go from being worried if we will "get any good ones" to not being able to narrow them down because she loves the photos of herself so much.

As a woman, I know how hard we are on ourselves and with photography, I have been given a gift to help undo some of the damage imprinted on us. I want to help women see themselves for themselves and bring us closer together.

In spring of 2019, I found myself 40 pounds heavier than I had ever been. Exhausted from standing in front of mirrors trying to love every inch of myself, but it felt so fucking hard. I could appreciate the girls around me, but never myself.

With a camera set on a stack of books, I fumbled around my bed in lingerie, doing these crazy poses I had stumbled across.

With sweat dripping off my face and feeling absolutely ridiculous, I looked at the back of the camera, and tears started falling. I didn't know that I looked like that. Truly, with all of the mean things that I say to myself, I wasn't sure what I really looked like. And the first thing that came to mind, was that maybe other women just need a new perspective too.

I photographed families and couples for about 6 years before I discovered my love of boudoir. I have always loved capturing the intimacy between two people, which is why couples boudoir are some of my favorite sessions even now.
